How to join in the fun

Ever wondered where legends and myths come from? Ever fancied having a laugh by joining in with other members of your community to celebrate the victory of a small Goat Boy over a giant.

Over the weekend of the 27th and 28th February Surbiton will be playing host to the Seething Festival. There will be events for all ages including a Community Play and The Seething Festival Procession. There are also free creative workshops for everyone.

Based on the mythical tale of Lefi Ganderson, the Goat Boy of Mount Seething, the weekend’s festival will focus on his wonderful achievement in driving the evil giant Thamas Deeton from Seething.

This is an opportunity for the whole community to come along and join in the fun of creating a new Urban Legend.

FREE WORKSHOPS*

Thursday 18th February   2pm to 4pm  Arts Workshop

Friday 19th February        2pm to 4pm  Arts Workshop

Saturday 20th February   1pm to 4pm  Painting the Seething             Festival Garden, Music Workshop & Art Workshop

All workshops will take place in a Marquee in the rear of The Lamb in the Brighton Road, Surbiton.

To access the workshops please walk through the passage way at the side of The Lamb

Saturday 27th February

From 12 noon in the garden of The Lamb, Brighton Road

1. join in with the Archeological dig to find the entrance to Lefi Ganderson’s cave
   

2. Help prepare of the Seething Festival Garden
   

3. Mask and Costume Making for The Seething Festival Procession
   

4. Creation of the Goat Boy and the Giant
   

5. 3pm Rehearsals for the Community Play – all welcome
   

6. 6pm Lefi Ganderson Folk evening.
   

Sunday 28th February

From 1pm

1. Mask and Costume Making for The Seething Festival Procession
   

2. 3pm Final Rehearsal for the Community Play – all welcome
   

3. 4.30 – Gather for the Festival Procession outside Jewsons on the Brighton Road
   

4. Everyone is invited to take part – with fancy dress if you so wish.
   

5. 4.40 – Procession along Brighton Road, Victoria Road, St Andrew’s Road and Maple Road and return to Brighton Road [The Seething Square Mile]
   

6. 5.30* - Performance of the Community Play
   

7. 6.00 - entertainment
